Roxy Chicken Jam 2010

First contest of the 2010 season, I went to Avoriaz France for a week with family which was really fun just cruising around and getting back into riding after my but injury! I drove with Gilly Seagrave from Morzine to Saalbach Hinterglum for 10 hours to the Roxy Chicken Jam in Austria. I am staying with all the Roxy girls, have had a great few days riding and today was the semi finals. I finished in 11th place which is my best result to date in a 6* TTR. That has put me in TTR ranking numero 12, stoked! My run consisted of a switch boardslide on the rainbow box into a backflip, into a back 3 mute, then into a nollie front flip off the up box! Shout out to Enni Rukajärvi, who is killing it and finished in 1st place! Hopefully I will have some more pictures to go up after the event! For now here is a picture of me and my girl Silje Norendal on the poma, now it is time to party, and then heading to the European Open tomorrow, ROAD TRIP!

Hello from snowy France

Hey I am currently in France on a family skiing holiday, it has been really cool to cruise around. The rest of the GB team arrived yesterday and it's dumping today here in Morzine, the snow has not been too great with small jumps so hoping they will make the park better after the snow fall. I rode some powder pipe with the team today! In a couple of days I am heading over to Austria for the Roxy Chicken Jam which should be really good fun to see the rest of the roxy girls and ride some good jumps. Will keep you posted on the journey over to Austria and how I get on in the contest.
Peace
x

Woodward edit

On my way home from Colorado now, currently stuck in Scotland, random eh?! , ended up having to take another flight from London to Glasgow, then to Belfast just to get home because of the 2 inches of snow in England, travel is manic!

The Woodward edit is now finished, check out the Jones, Lisa, Cherly, Lesley and myself in action! hope you guys like it! First off we had to do the introduction, "safety" learning how to fall into the foam pits, forward rolls, real basic stuff! Stay watching though to see rodeo's, doubles from all of the girls! We had soo much fun there and I felt I learned loads, can't wait to get back on my board now and ride a decent powder so I can try some of the new things I learned!

Double Backflips

Having an awesome time here in the US, have been going to Woodward lots and learned something new, Double Backflip! I went with Jenny on a mission to try it tied onto a suspended rope , we both really got into the session and learned it on the trampoline, so stoked as we both stomped them! We are putting together an edit from Woodward and that will be up on the Cooler website soon so will keep you posted on that. For now just check this very short clip...

Christmas is getting close now, we bought a really cute real tree for our apartment out here in Frisco, looking forward to getting back home to see friends and family!

Bruised Coccyx!

It's snowing today here in Frisco whoo, just about to go shopping at the outlets in Keystone for some crimbo bargains! I have not ridden for a week as the 3rd day I overshot a kicker at Keystone to the flat so now I have a lovely big bruise on my Coccyx! Really hope I can get back on my board sometime this week as the pipe is perfect in Copper and I can't wait to start training again. We went to Woodward the other day, the place is amazing. I got through the induction just struggled with the forward rolls! But we rode the snowflex kicker and that was quite low impact on my backside as it is into a foam pit, never ridden snoflex before so that was a different experience!

BASI course

In Zermatt at the moment, I am taking my Level 2 snowboard instructor course, going well just a little bit tedious when there is powder like this to be had! Had a sneaky run first thing this morning...

Dachstein

Despite the wind and poor visibility up on the Hintertux Glacier, we managed to squeeze in a couple of good kicker days to get some practice before the Horsefeathers Pleasure jam. I found out the day before I had a starting position so myself, Jamie Nicholls aka PJ, Jack Shackelton and Lewis Courtier-Jones headed over to Schladming to hit up the 4* TTR Event.

The park was awesome, really nice floaty kickers, on Qualification day the women only got one run qualification due to bad visibility and high wind up on the Dachstein glacier. I stomped my first qualification run so that put me in a good position for the following day where we had our 2nd run. I stepped it up a notch and qualified in 4th place for the finals. In the finals I didn’t manage to lay down my tricks as planned, I finished up in 9th place so it wasn’t to bad for the first contest of the season. This put me at #16 in the World TTR Ranking. Check out the Whitelines review here.

At the moment I am currently on the train in the middle of the Alps traveling from Jenbach, Austria to Zermatt Switzerland. In total my journey should take around 8 hours, which isn’t too bad! Time for a break! I am heading to Zermatt to complete my level 2 BASI Instructor course.

London Freeze

This past weekend has been crazy, I had soo much fun. The finals of both the Snowboarding and Skiing were insane in fact I have never seen a skiing final quite like it. My friend Silje from Norway came over and we got down to some serious shopping on Oxford Street on Friday and chilled out for a few days at the London Freeze promoting the new JBL Roxy headphones, it involved a lot of dancing at our own silent disco! Check out the dude in the pink he was rocking. The public were loving it.
On the Sunday evening at the last minute I entered into the Burton rail jam for some fun, thanks to TSA for hooking me up with a complete set up so I could ride in the jam as I had no kit with me, was well worth it as I won an awesome LG touch screen phone, for doing a 5050 Fron
tflip out. The box was super fun and some crazy tricks were going down, Kim Rune Hansen threw down a front flip onto the box and front flip off, AMAZING
My new phone...

Also thanks
to Rowntree's for hooking me up with a massive box of their new Randoms, good stocking filler for my bro!  best candy ever, pretty random eh! Snowboarding and Candy???!

Bad weather

The glacier was closed for 2 days in a row, crazy winds, so we entertained ourselves by hiking up to the top gondola station to get the most amazing view of Saas Fee, on our journey up we came across some sheep! It was so much fun, singing on the way up to some crazy French techno! which I was introduced to by Silje, check her blog...

We spent the rest of the day cruising in the skate-park.
Today the mountain was open,  really good conditions just really icy. After our session on the mountain we came down for a lifestyle photoshoot with a Roxy Photographer, which was fun but we were freezing!  Can't believe how cold it is here, its meant to be -14 on the mountain tomorrow.

SAAS FEE

I travelled to Saas Fee in Swiss land yesterday, the journey was great apart from having to pay for my board bag on both flights gutted! I am on the Roxy Snow camp, staying in the Roxy room it's awesome. Having fun with all the girls! Went up the mountain yesterday, amazing weather just a tad icy. Today the mountain was shut due to heavy winds and an early season snowfall so we had fitness! Check out our sexy hair-bands.
Will keep you posted on what we are up to this week.

TRAVELING BACK AND FOURTH

I had my first day at Uni on Friday, I flew over to Bristol then got the train into Bath! Everyone was soo friendly and I am super happy as one of my fellow GB team mates Jamie Barrow is studying the same course as me, it is a complete coincidence as we discovered each other in the lecture room. It's great to have someone there that I know as I am studying as a part-time student so I will  be attending when I am not snowboarding. I am looking forward to making the most of the facilities that Bath Uni has to offer.

On Friday night I flew up to Glasgow for the TSA Big Bang Show at Braehead Xscape. It was a really fun action packed day, with lots of coaching, myself and Lesley taking the Roxy session. I had some free time to cruise the kicker with some of the locals which was fun
. Roxy had one of the coolest stands for sure as we had a chocolate fountain! Check back for the next snowboard show at Milton Keynes for the next all girls Roxy Coaching session and more chocolate fountain action!

I am now home for 5 days, quite a record and then I am off to Saas Fee in Switzerland  for the Roxy training camp!
